After leaving San Francisco, I made my way to Yosemite and on to Arizona for warmer weather!
Horsetail Falls was not running very strong because it was the fall dry season. Spring with the snow melt is the time to see it!
El Capitan.
Yosemite Valley.
Half Dome.
Half Dome.
Bridal Vail Falls.
Tioga Road through the mountains to Lee Vining closed 3 weeks before I arrived. That would have been a more picturesque and direct route to my next stop in Pahrump, Nevada. I was forced to drive south through Fresno, Bakersfield, Barstow, and up to Las Vegas to get to Pahrump, Nevada. After a week in Pahrump, I made my way to Kingman, Arizona. I had been there many years before but didn’t photograph or explore the town much. I enjoyed watching the trains come through town. There were 3 breweries in town and a really good restaurant that served Pizza and BBQ, actually it was two restaurants in the same building that appeared to have the same owner.
You can drive your car through the sign for a selfie – the Revel was too tall!
After leaving Kingman, I made my way to Lake Havasu, Parker, Quartzsite, and on to Yuma. I had been to all before so wasn’t motivated to take many photos. I wanted to drive around and refresh my memory and visit some of my favorite places. I’ll be traveling back and forth along the Colorado River for a month before heading back east and home for a travel break.
Parked in the desert for the night.
always love seeing the redwoods and yosemite.
