After leaving Kingman, Arizona and driving south through Parker, I spent time camping with friends in and around Quartzsite, Arizona.

Hi Jolly Memorial

I left Arizona and my first stop was to visit a friend in Waco, Texas. I was surprised how livable the city was. Traffic wasn’t bad, and parking downtown was plentiful, maybe I caught it on a good day!

While in Waco, I discovered that Crawford, Texas was nearby so we took a little day trip out to see it. It was truly a 1 stoplight town! A post office, bar, and restaurant was about all there was plus some train tracks and silos.

Next stop in my travels was Grapevine, Texas to ride the Grapevine Excursion Train to the Fort Worth Stockyards and back.

Next stop was Caddo Lake State Park on the Texas – Louisiana border
