I left Jackson, The Tetons, and Yellowstone behind as I headed toward Craters of the Moon. Totally unplanned, I followed the Snake River for most of my route to Craters. I passed through the Snake River gorge cut through the Tetons and into Idaho. I drove by Palisades Reservoir where the Snake was dammed and continued on to Idaho Falls where I spent one night. I shot video of Idaho Falls but can’t believe I didn’t shoot any stills. I’ll post some video to YouTube in a couple days.

As the lava breaks down, plants manage to take hold and turn this mountain cinder rocks into a beautiful sight.
